Shrink bags are a reliable and sophisticated packaging solution. Modern materials are thin and multi-layered, offering distinct packaging properties. They efficiently protect and preserve goods throughout their entire life cycle, from storage to transportation, distribution and point of sales. They're ideal for products like cheese or meat during ripening, ensuring superior quality. Transparent packaging provides an honest view of the contents, and printing options allow eye-catching branding at the service counter or self-service shelf.
Increased automation, changed requirements.
In contemporary times, shrink bag packaging is mostly automated. Machines open the bags, fill them, vacuum, seal, and shrink. Robot technology is increasingly used for filling pouches, resulting in a doubled packing speed due to higher automation levels in the cycle rate (packs/minute). This speed requires adapting sealing materials for smaller processing windows.
The bags need to be mechanically strong and have reliable seams to withstand the filling process. Automation and packaging speed vary depending on the product, while uniform and solid products like cheese pieces or loaves can be packaged relatively well automatically.
This is not always possible to the same extent for soft products with varying sizes, such as fresh meat.
